Quebra-Queixo (Jaw Breaker) is the name of a sweet, hard candy from Brazil which is known to destroy the teeth of many children, albeit concerns about bad teeth has not been the motivator to write the piece. I was looking into something like a sugar high, that this candy can undoubtedly provide. The piece is energetic, and peaks and crashes, pulls the listener back into its frenetic stage until it calms down… only to pick things up again.
