This spring season brings some exciting events! Assad is curating this year's New York Festival of Song, highlighting works of Brazilian composers - Also in NYC, an east coast premiere of Dreamscapes will take place in Zankell Hall, featuring violinist Elena Urioste with the American Composers Orchestra.

Also in the spring, Assad will take her workhsop VOXploration to the Kennedy Center, where she'll be representing Albany Symphony's educational program. The presentation will be an hour long lecture-demonstration featuring kids from the KIPP school. IARA, a ballet for the PDX Contemporary Ballet and the Northwest Piano Trio will be premiered in Portland, followed by a mini concert tour with her father, Sergio Assad in Seattle and Eugene.

Summer of 2018 includes concerts in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Londrina, and the fall will take Clarice back to Europe for a premiere of her new double guitar concerto for the Brazil Guitar Duo in Tichy, Poland, as well as concerts in Italy, Sweden and Denmark. The fall also brings two album releases on Cedille Records, featuring the ballet for orchestra Sin Fronteras, commissioned by the Chicago Sinfonietta for the Cerqua-Rivera Dance Group, and - Metamorfose - written for 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient violist Matthew Lipman, who will be premiering the work at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in November.

The Midwest Clinic: An International Band and Orchestra Conference, exists to serve music educators and improve the field of music education. The conference has been held in Chicago every December since 1946. The conference has grown from an original audience of 120 local directors to an average of 17,000 instrumental music educators, administrators, professional musicians, composers, conductors, students, and music industry representatives. The Midwest Clinic’s attendees hail from all 50 states and 30 countries. Each year, the four day conference offers over 90 clinics designed for band, orchestra and jazz directors at all levels, more than 40 concerts from middle school, high school and adult bands, orchestras, jazz ensembles and chamber ensembles, and displays from over 350 exhibitors and 600 booths.
