SONG FOR MY FATHER for mandolin orchestra is published by Haus der Musik TREKEL

Song For My Father is an homage to my father, Sergio Assad. It is a sweet, sometimes nostalgic sounding work in the style of choro, echoing memories of him as a child, playing with my grandfather Jorge Assad who taught three generations of musicians. This arrangement was commissioned by the Providence Mandolin Orchestra, and later recorded by the New American Mandolin Ensemble. It has also been recorded as a piano and saxophone version by Sheila Zagury and Dani Spielmann and myself on the record I did with my father, Relíquia as a solo piano piece.
