I became acquainted with the 4 Aces Guitar Quartet when I heard their wonderful rendition of my piece Bluezilian.  I was very pleased with it, and secretly hoped to have the opportunity to collaborate with them on a new work.  To my lucky surprise, a few years later the group commissioned me a piece and inquired about the possibility of incorporating vocals into this new work.  Being a singer myself, whose main focus is directed towards using the voice as an instrument, I became immediately entranced with the idea. 

Danza was born out of a sketch for solo guitar and vocal effects. Exotic in nature and full of rhythmic drive, it was the perfect canvas for the new sonorous adventure I was about to embrace.  I took advantage of a plethora of colors and textures that complement and contrast each other in various ways.  It is a great pleasure to collaborate with this unique guitar quartet.  I truly admire their musicality, talent, and willingness to think outside the box.
